International Yiquan Academy

Andrzej Kalisz (in China known as 卡力 Ka Li or 意强 Yi Qiang) started practicing martial arts in 1980s, at first trying some judo, karate and aikido. Since 1985 is practicing Taijiquan (Tai Chi). In 1986 started studying Chinese language and culture at Warsaw University. In 1989 went to China for the first time, spending there two years, studying in Beijing and at the same time learning Taijiquan from famous masters of Wu 吴 and Chen style. At that time started learning basics of Yiquan too.
Since that time he has been travelling to China annually, form many years focusing on Yiquan training, becoming a disciple of master Yao Chengguang and the main international representative of his school – Beijing Zongxun Wuguan. Recently he became also a disciple and Wu 武 style Taijiquan master Zhai Weichuan. Additionally is studying Xingyiquan and Baguazhang coming from master Luo Dexiu.
In 1998 Andrzej Kalisz officially became an instructor of Beijing Zongxun Wuguan and started teaching Yiquan in Poland, naming his training group Yiquan Academy. At that time he started assisting master Yao Chengguang in replying questions coming from Yiquan practitioners from all over the world and in 2001 organized first international training course in Poland. The Academy became International. The names Yiquan Academy International Network and Yiquan Academy Worldwide Support were also used.
Presently Academy keeps organizing summer intensive courses and some smaller workshops at other times of year. Joining China training trips is also possible. Andrzej Kalisz is also available for teaching workshops hosted by people in various countries. So far he was invited to teach in Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Ukraine. People from many more countries participated in the workshop, summer courses and China training trips.
